You’ve got to have a system. Not a plan. But a system. This system should have the following parts:
- Free Exchange of Value
- Lead Capture Page
- Sales Page
- Follow Up System
- Support/Back Office
- Product or Service
You’re going to learn how I use the same secrets as the top earners in network marketing to generate traffic, leads and cash flow. But first, I want to explain why this system was created online.
Rome Wasn’t Built in A Day
When the Internet first hit the mainstream in the early 90′s people began to realize the vast potential of the Internet. The Internet’s origins begin much earlier than that, but I wanted to focus on the history of systems on the Internet.
In the beginning, a web page was pretty simple. By today’s standard, a tech savvy teen could put together an even better one in less time. All there really was back then was simple graphics and text.
But this was making money. Why? Because the search engines were not complicated yet and marketers could pick simple key words and phrases and direct people to their sites pretty easily.
Anyone with great sales copy was raking in the dough.
Well, once other people began to catch on to this thing called the internet, online business empires were being created. People were hiring teams of people. New jobs were being created. People were scrambling for their piece of the pie.
The Internet boom was upon us.
What do you think happened when the marketplace became competitive? People began to develop systems to become more efficient.
Just having a web page focused on a couple of keywords wasn’t enough anymore. Search engines began to evolve and this created new markets because information was now more accessible than ever before.
Search engines changed the game because now you need to create websites that are search engine friendly. Knowing how Search Engine Optimization works has become a necessity in what’s now a highly competetive market.
Now that people could jump from site to site comparing which products or services are the best, the competition needed to adapt.
Consumers in the beginning, didn’t have to sift through a lot of “noise” or distractions on the internet. Now if you type in too generic of a keyword you will see a gajillion (a zillion jillions) websites. But if you type in a specific phrase, then you will get more relevant information.
So here we are today. Millions of people online at any given moment. All of the potential for making money at the click of a button. Zero barriers to entry if you pick the right opportunity. And a whole lot of fun to be had.
Top Earner Secrets Revealed
Well I think you already know the main piece of this secret and that’s the system. But what is it specifically within the system that makes some people more successful than others?
Let’s first take a look at a traditional consumer. We’ll call them Mark. Mark is an average consumer. They’re not rich, but they’ve got some money to spend.
Mark is working his 9-5 and one day has an epiphany and says, ” I don’t want to do this for the rest of my life. I don’t make enough money to do what I want to. I want a different life. What’s this thing called network marketing?”
What is it about Mark’s mindset that’s enticeing to a top earner? Well, it sounds like Mark is looking for a way out. A solution to a problem, if you will.
Marketing experts understand the psychology of a buyer. Top earners know how to incorporate this important principle into their system.
SECRET #1 – Study the psychology of a buyer. More importantly, what takes them from the information gathering stage to the buyer stage.
Exchange of Value on a Lead Capture Page
The best online systems will always have a lead capture page or form to capture your contact information. When Mark visits your website for the first time, he doesn’t know who you are or what you’re offering. So why would he give you his contact information?
It’s because you have something of value that Mark wants and needs. Remember, he wants something better in his life and if you might have the keys to his success, he’ll be more than happy to trade you his contact information.
This exchange of value is a critical turning point for turning Mark into a person that trusts you. Because if you can get Mark to trust you, he will buy from you. However, this is just the first step.
A fatal mistake at this stage would be to not deliver exceptional value to your new visitor. The first impression matters. If you didn’t live up to the hype of what you were offering, your potential connection with this person could be lost and very hard to rebuild.
Mark will think, “that guy is a load of crap. An eight year old could have given me better advice. I’ll make sure to steer clear of them in the future.” So that brings us to Secret #2.
SECRET #2 – Develop a FREE unique product, tool or service that your target niche market is willing to exchange their contact information for. And you better make it chock full of value so much so that they call you back with testimonials.
The value of this content better be something that Mark can use in his business right away. Nothing will help you more as a leader, than helping someone else succeed.
Sales Page
Here’s the part where your system really begins to go to work. Mark has now entered in his contact information and he’s officially in the system’s marketing funnel.
Let’s assume that the value that was offered was included in on the sales page and Mark was able to download it. Let’s also assume that Mark was thoroughly impressed by his FREE content and can immediately apply this to his life/business.
Since he was so impressed he wants to know what else you have to offer. Mark’s mindset now is this guy is good. I trust this guy.
When Mark now vists your sales page, he’s going to be pretty pumped up and excited. It is your goal to keep him excited about what he’s just learned and to infuse a sense of urgency into the next step and that’s the sale.
Secret #3 – Master the art of writing sales copy or else find someone that can.
The sales page obviously plays an integral role in a top earner’s system.
Here’s what Mark is thinking as he reads the sales page, “I liked the FREE thing that he gave me. What does he have to offer? Oh this is something they talked about in the FREE thing. What can this product/service do for me? Oh it can help me make money? Fast? Right now? Look at all of these people that it helped!!! Look at that house in the background. I wish that was my house. Wait. How much? Oh that’s a little steep. Wait… limited time offer…I get what as a bonus??!!!……where’s my damn credit card…..where’s my wife……..done and done…..”
Obviously there are very many psychological triggers that occur as you read quality sales copy. I will not get into the specifics here, but you can see that at any point in the sales letter, if your consumer gets distracted you can lose them.
Secret #4 – You can mimic, not copy, but mimic other successful sales copy pages. Think about it. They’re all the same in principle. Start saving the websites that you come across that are very persuaisve. Compare each of them and you’ll understand the triggers that they use.
Follow Up System
So Mark got a little bit nervous when he was entering his credit card and decided that his wife wouldn’t want him spending the money. What does an expert marketer do at this point? How do they still profit from them even if they don’t buy the first time?
Secret#5 – Expert marketers do not have the time to follow up with all of their customers and prospects. Using an auto responder allows you to develop a relationship and build trust.
So if Mark chickened out and didn’t buy your hot new product, you need to understand that if he was a serious network marketer that he was pretty disappointed that he wasn’t able to get it. It becomes the responsibility of the marketer to follow up consistently, so that when the time is right you have already positioned yourself as the point of sale.
Think of the point of sale as a cash register at a grocercery store. When Mark is ready to buy, he’ll come to the cash register. We just have to make sure that the cash register is YOU.
Secret #6 – When following up, you must be over delivering on high quality content that can be used in your market’s business immediately. You can offer training, consultation, tips, products, testimonials, and movitvation. Let your personality shine through.
Support or Back Office
This separates the men from the boys. You can’t run a marathon and stop at the finish line. You’ve got to run through the tape!!! Make sure that you offer support that enhances the product or service you offer.
Think about if Mark, an average guy, buys a product that he didn’t fully understand. Something that he know would help, but because he was on the internet buying it he didn’t really understand the whole picture.
Mark’s going to need some help either understanding how to implement his product or how to apply what he’s learned to his business. And if you can help him do this he will be successful and will become a repeat consumer.
Secret #7 – When your consumer calls for help, you better be ready to give them sound advice. If you’ve got a huge list of people with the same questions, you’ll need to hold a webinar and have a Q&A or send out an FAQ. This will portray you as a leader, however, fail at this part and your reputation can suffer because of it.
The top earners in the industry usually have some support staff hired, or they’ve outsourced virtual assistants. Don’t try to do everything yourself. You might actually go insane.
Back to Mark. Now that Mark has gotten the information that he was looking for and its improved his business. He now has so much trust in you that he’s ready to buy anything that you have to offer. You’ve proven yourself as a leader and someone he can count on.
Now he’s actually anticipating your emails and product offers.
Product or Service
Top earners in the network marketing industry can actually introduce any product that they want into the market and they will always have a solid percentage of people purchase this product. However, the method in which they promote and market the product is going to be top notch. They are top earners.
Any product or service that a top earner introduces into the market is going to be aimed at solving a typical network marketers problem. The main problems are landing page conversions, traffic generation, lead generation, sales and cash flow.
Secret #8 – Establishing yourself as a leader gives you the ability to influence and leverage decisions made by the average consumer. If they perceive you as a leader, they will trust you even though they don’t know you. And what does trust lead to? A customer.
So Mark gets your emergency email and decides that your subject header is intriguing enough to open. He begins to read your email because you’ve already proven to be helpful everytime he’s opened your emails.
He’s thinking, “I really like the sound of this email offer. I want to know more where’s that link. I’ve got money saved up for this.”
Mark realizes that over time you’ve been able to deliver superior content. Every item that speaks about them on the internet is good. The product that you’re offering is exceptional and the preliminary testimony on it is great. So what does mark do everytime you have a product offer?
He buys it.
