Inbound Marketing
I was sitting here on my day off goal planning for 2010 and as I began to get a little bit side tracked I came across some resources from www.HubSpot.com. As I began reading I discovered that they distinguished new school marketing and old school marketing.
The old school method of marketing can be thought of as radio, newspaper, magazine, billboard and television advertising. This is characterized as outbound marketing. The concept is basically that you are sending your marketing message out into the marketplace.
The new school method of marketing is social media, blogging, comments on blog posts, article posts, pay per click advertising etc. This was coined as inbound marketing by HubSpot CEO Brian Halligan. This method of marketing works because you are attracting people to your products, servicesĀ and marketing funnels.
So I ask you what’s better inbound marketing or outbound marketing?
The answer depends whether you want to attract people to you or if you want to go out and find people. Network marketing in the past had been based on outbound marketing techniques, such as fliers, advertisments and word of mouth.
Network marketing is begining to shift in a way where many are choosing to go online with their marketing strategies and inbound marketing is now the way to go. Inbound marketing is so much better because you are attracting people to you.
You now have the ability to attract only the people that you want and nobody else. Think about this for a second. If you are not attracting who you want in your network marketing business, then there is something wrong with your marketing strategies and techniques.
